24SE SpacEngine is designed to place a sound inside a believable stereo space,
not merely add reverb to it. Its central POSITION controls form a high-level
interface, while the sections below expose the individual acoustic mechanisms
that create the perceived location.

Move the blue SOURCE point and the plugin coordinates direct-sound level,
panning, transient detail, filtering, inter-channel timing, early reflections,
reverberant balance and spectral distance cues. The underlying controls remain
available for fine adjustment, so a position can be shaped without breaking the
relationship between the source and its environment.

HOW SPACENGINE WORKS
===============================================================================

POSITION: X, Y AND Z
--------------------

X / PAN moves the source horizontally. Equal-power panning is combined with
restrained inter-channel timing and early-reflection skew to create a position
that feels more natural than simple left/right level control.

Y / DEPTH is a psychoacoustic distance macro. Moving toward FAR progressively
reduces direct definition and high-frequency detail while changing transient
strength, reflection timing, direct-to-reverberant balance, early-reflection
energy, tail send, width, diffusion and density. Moving toward NEAR applies the
opposite relationship and restores presence and definition.

Z / ELEVATION-AIR uses subtle spectral cues to suggest vertical placement.
Stereo speakers cannot reproduce true physical height, so SpacEngine uses
carefully restrained air, tilt and upper-spectrum shaping instead of fictional
vertical amplitude panning.

The TOP, SIDE and FRONT views update with the POSITION controls and show the
source, listener, early reflections and late reverberant field.

THE SIGNAL PATH
---------------

1. DIRECT SOUND shapes what reaches the listener before room simulation:
   level, transient emphasis, HPF, LPF and loudness-compensated saturation.

2. EARLY REFLECTIONS creates the first discrete room arrivals with a multi-tap
   network. Level, pre-delay, size, width, skew and topology describe the nearby
   surfaces and provide strong distance and geometry cues.

3. REVERB TAIL creates the later diffuse room field. Level, decay, width,
   diffusion and density control how the reflections merge into a smooth cloud.

4. SPECTRAL SHAPING controls air absorption, tonal tilt and frequency limits.
   The Depth EQ display visualizes the distance-related spectral transformation.

5. MODULATION adds restrained motion to Pan, Level, Early Reflections or Tail.
   The Analog/Random fader moves the behavior from periodic toward stochastic.

6. MICRO TIMING & PHASE provides sub-millisecond L/R timing and all-pass phase
   rotation. Use MONO CHECK and the correlation meter to judge compatibility.

7. DYNAMICS / DEPTH LINK allows incoming dynamics to influence depth-related
   reverb, filtering and level. Sensitivity and Release determine the response.

8. GLOBAL SPACE defines the room itself: space type, size, character, global
   pre-delay and global decay. These controls describe the environment, while
   POSITION describes where the source is located inside that environment.
   Moving a source farther away does not turn a short room into a long room.

PHASE GUARD
-----------

Phase Guard continuously compares the left and right channels across frequency
and estimates the loss that would occur when they are summed to mono.

  GREEN   Safe or insignificant mono loss
  YELLOW  A potentially weak frequency region
  RED     A frequency region at risk of significant cancellation

AUTO permits continuous conservative correction. MANUAL keeps the analysis
visible without automatic adaptation, and FREEZE holds the learned profile.
Detection sensitivity, analysis range, correction strength, maximum rotation,
speed, low-frequency protection and mono priority determine how cautiously the
system responds. At 0% correction, Phase Guard operates as an analyzer only.

FREQUENCY RESPONSE PREVIEW
--------------------------

The lower-right display is a live five-component spectrum, not a static EQ:

  BLUE/CYAN    Direct sound
  ORANGE       Early reflections
  PURPLE       Reverb tail
  WHITE        Total output
  GREEN        Mono sum

The curves move with the incoming signal and the active processing, then return
to rest when playback stops. The display makes it easier to see how POSITION and
the detailed controls redistribute energy between direct sound and the room.

QUICK START
===============================================================================

1. Insert 24SE SpacEngine on a stereo mixer channel.

2. Start with the Default Preset and drag the blue SOURCE point in TOP VIEW.
   Use X for left/right position and Y for near/far distance.

3. Adjust Z / ELEVATION-AIR only as much as needed. Small changes are usually
   more believable than extreme settings.

4. Choose a GLOBAL SPACE and set its Size, Character, Pre-delay and Decay.
   Think of these as the room, not the source position.

5. Refine Direct Sound, Early Reflections and Reverb Tail as offsets from the
   position created by X/Y/Z.

6. Check MONO CHECK, correlation and Phase Guard before committing wide timing
   or phase settings. Use Phase Guard correction conservatively.

7. Use A/B to compare two settings, COPY to duplicate the active comparison
   state, BYPASS for an unprocessed comparison, and the back-arrow button to
   restore the previous parameter state.

INSTALLATION - WINDOWS VST3
===============================================================================

1. Close FL Studio or any other DAW currently using the plugin.

2. Extract the downloaded archive.

3. Locate the complete plugin bundle:

       24SE SpacEngine.vst3

4. Copy the complete .vst3 bundle to the standard Windows VST3 folder:

       C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

   If an older version exists, replace the complete old bundle. Administrator
   permission may be required when writing to the Program Files folder.

5. Open your DAW and rescan VST3 plugins. In FL Studio, open Plugin Manager,
   select Find installed plugins, and enable Verify plugins if necessary.

6. Confirm that the detected plugin is:

       24SE SpacEngine 0.5.5

COMPATIBILITY AND USE
===============================================================================

24SE SpacEngine is supplied as a 64-bit VST3 effect for Windows and requires a
compatible 64-bit digital audio workstation. It processes stereo audio and may
also be used on mono material routed through a stereo mixer channel.

Extreme timing, phase, width and modulation settings can intentionally produce
strong stereo decorrelation. Always check important mixes in mono and monitor
Phase Guard when using these controls aggressively.
